The second amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the right to keep and bear arms. Like the rest of the amendments in the Bill of Rights, the second amendment is a basic human right. It is the right to self preservation. All of God’s creatures and all men have this right. The right to self preservation is not a right granted to us by Government, but rather, something given to us by our Creator.
As such, my right to self preservation is not subject to the vote of any man, regardless of his title or position in government. I have the right to keep and bear arms, even if 535 Congressmen vote that I do not. I have the right to keep and bear arms, even if 9 unelected people in black robes claim that I do not.  In fact, as Noah Webster so clearly states above, the right to keep and bear arms is a tool that the founders relied upon to keep the federal government within its constitutional confines. Is it any wonder that those in the federal government, who want to operate in a manner repugnant to the Constitution, are so hell-bent on restricting the right to keep and bear arms?

Make no mistake. The second amendment was not placed into our Constitution to protect duck hunting or Olympic target shooting events. The second amendment was put into our Constitution so that the people will always have the means to overthrow a tyrannical federal government.

Elect me to Congress, and your right to keep and bear arms will no longer be subject to the majority vote of others.
